Spring Has Sprung!

A field trip lasting 10 am through 6:30 pm seemed like a long ordeal, but surprisingly not. Although unexpected group sizes changed the programs that were arranged, it worked out well. The only time it caused issues was when the group was greater in number than the number of flotation devices that we had. Otherwise, I'm grateful that we had the opportunity to be apart of the Geology and Wetlands program on the extended field trip, it kept the day from truly feeling long.
The Perfect Tree
I had not pondered how truly amazing nature is until this May term. When we arrived it was cold and brown. Then we discovered life in the vernal pond. Then life more drastically appeared, and the woods (or swamp, prairie, etc.) so suddenly sprang to life. It is amazing to find that life did not completely hibernate during this past winter. But it is even more amazing to see how fast life changes. One day I noticed flowers on the Garlic Mustard and the next day it seemed as if we were walking down tunnels of foliage rather than trailsS
