I think my favorite part about today was the fact that once they learned about a specie's name they would continue to look for it in the woods and also make connections about where they have seen it outside of Merry Lea. Preschoolers made me feel excitement about every little snail and stick that was on the ground. I can't wait to carry that enthusiasm into my next lessons with older grades.

Preschoolers and Nature
I thought that it was fitting that the first day of taking groups out in the woods, we would be with preschoolers. First they are so forgiving in everything, and also they thought everything was cool! They loved to point out sounds that they were hearing, pointing out ants on the ground and also picking up every stick they could find. They wanted to know everything and what everything was called. Once they learned about something, then they would keep pointing it out along the way. When we got to the pond they were just so excited to find things that were living things in the water and they wanted to know what the pond creatures were called.
