Today was a coincidence.. I also went to Syracuse Elementary back in the day! All the way up to fourth grade.
Being cold, wet, and rainy, I was trying to maintain a positive external attitude...nobody said anything about internal! The thing is, I got to see exactly how my attitude towards the weather influenced them, and it made the positive also! It was almost like nobody cared about the weather. Only negative side is we had a hard time finding turtles, snakes, etc because of the weather.
We ended up focusing them on wild editables such as cattails, garlic mustard, and sweet sicily. These are always there for us! However, we did experience a mini heart attack when a group member misidentified a plant. The plant this person was looking for was violets...but ended up feeding them flox. It was all okay though because Paul looked it up and they are editable!
