Rocks, rocks, and more rocks!

Today instead of taking a group through the wetlands, I had helped out with the group that took students around a rock pit.  We took the students on hikes and then we took them down a pit of rocks where they played a scavenger hunt.  When we took them on a hike we had a guide, Francis, and he was totally awesome.  He was so knowledgeable that I learned more about glaciers and Eskers through him, and about different types of soils in Indiana.
I loved how the kids were so excited about rocks.  We had a group that just wanted to see how many breakable rocks they could find.  They also would come and show us every cool rock they found and had a hard time deciding which one they wanted to take home.  It was amazing the awesome amounts of different types of rocks they found.  My highlight though, was one group loved us so much they asked if we were also going on the hike with them, and when we said yes, they said good we think you guys are awesome!!!!  This just warmed my soul.
The picture I have chosen for day represent different rocks that were found a lot.  I liked these rocks because one was a reddish tint rock, the other was a small smooth pink rock, and the last one was shiny with lots of colors smooch together.  All together today was a great day!
