Macros, Macros, and Macros...oh my!

Today's third grade group was a special bunch. This particular school had already suffered two canceled field trips and we were hoping for great weather. Well, we woke up to rain, but continued despite the elements! And man was it worth it! Throughout the hectic weather, I didn't hear a single complaint! The students were so excited and eager to try anything.

We were split into four groups for this wetland adventure, and Squire, Eastern Blue Bird, and I were on Macros! I am starting to get really excited about Macros. It could be because I spend so much time on them, but I really enjoying being able to identify and see the children identify as well. Today, the kids were all into sharing their macros and passing them around. They were identify for each other and really attentive about the pollution talks. I'd say it was one of the best days for macro identifying, despite the elements!

After the day, the students gathered around the pavilion for goodbyes and juice. A few kids were trying to wrap their arms around trees and I joined them! Seeing a group of third graders hug trees, is a pretty exciting thing! Yay, future Tree Huggers of America!

We came up with a cool system that made for easy bug dispersal and minimum squishing!
