I woke up with excitement and a text from Paul today informing the class that we should meet at the Farm an hour early! I was determined to make this a memorable field trip for the students since two of their previous field trips had been canceled. The ground was wet and started to drizzle right when I arrived at the Barn but I knew that it was going to be a good day. Aspen, Erin and I were assigned to lead the Macro Invertebrate Mayhem station. The first game went well even thought it was sort of drizzling but the students enjoyed it and learned a lot about the PTI and how environmental stressors affect biodiversity in our wetlands. The second game was when we ran into some trouble as the white board accumulated water drops making it hard for us to write on. The third game we decided to abandon the white board and group the students into the species they were assigned to. One aspect that I really liked about today was that the teachers were really enthusiastic while participating and the students enjoyed their teachers being poop.
