Home-Schoolers

I am a little late in writing this, but I wanted to write a little bit about our experiences with the home-school coop group that came last week. Their energy, intelligence, and excitement was so rewarding, as I did not know what to expect. I was surprised at their own experiences, coming from experiencing life outside of their own homes. They seem to get a lot more time to explore the outdoors, unlike many of the other public school children that we have seen come through here.

I especially appreciated the child that brought the water beetle. I don't know that I have seen, or will ever see another, kid that protects and glorifies his water beetle so much. He explained the slow process of saving the water beetle from smaller critters that seemed to be eating it at the time he found it. And then went on to explain some of the research he had completed to try and figure out exactly what species it was, or how to take care of it. It was swell.
